    The Ames 2000B is a double check assembly. In 1997 the Ames Company was purchased by Watts Regulator Company. Ames began to market the Watts 007 series as their model 2000B. See the Watts 007 information for repair info.

  • M200 / M200N

    M200 / M200N

    The Ames M200 and Ames M300 are double check valve assemblies. This model was produced under the Hunter name from 2000-2002. In 2002 Watts bought the Hunter models and began producing them as the Ames M200 and M200A. The "M" designation refers to Ames Maxim brand name. The body is stainless steel tubing. To access the check components a sleeve is mounted over the access cover. On the 6"-10" sizes the sleeve is attached by two grooved couplings. The checks are modular and constructed of Noryl plastic. The check HAS a torsion spring which is contained when the check module is removed from the body. The check spring must be extended and controlled with a pin or screwdriver to replace the check disc. The check disc is either an EPDM or silicone. The "A" model was discontinued in 2008 and has a bi-link check mechanism while the "non-A" version utilizes a tri-link check mechanism. The body length dimensions may 1" shorter than shown in the dimension chart on versions produced in 2003 or earlier.

    C200 / C200N

    The Ames C200 and Ames C300 are double check valve assemblies. Originally produced under the Hunter name from 2000-2002. In 2002 Watts bought the Hunter models and began producing them as the Ames C200 and C200A. Watts also produces these models under the Watts name as the model 757 or 757A. The "C" designation refers to Ames Colt brand name. The body is stainless steel tubing. To access the check components a sleeve is mounted over the access cover. On the 2 1/2"-6" sizes the sleeve slides over the body to access the check components. On the 8"-10" sizes the sleeve is attached by two grooved couplings. The checks are modular and constructed of Noryl plastic. The check utilizes a torsion spring which is contained when the check module is removed from the body. The check spring must be extended and controlled with a pin or screw driver to replace the check disc. The check disc is either an EPDM or silicone. The model Ames C200 and Ames C200A will have the same external dimensions.     The Ames 2000SS backflow preventer model is a double check assembly. Production began in 1990. The body is fabricated stainless steel. Single top mounted cover. All have a modular check design. The 3/4"-2" from 1990-1992, had internal check mechanisms that were modular and made of a glass filled Noryl. The older assemblies have ball valve shutoffs that were built into the body. In 1992 external ball valves that screw onto the body of the assembly were added. In 1992 the check module working mechanism design was changed to a pivot design. 3/4" - 2" discontinued in 1997. The 2 1/2 - 12" check mechanism is made of a glass filled Noryl. The checks are modular. The check design is a cam operated mechanism. 2 1/2" - 10" sizes the check modules are not repairable and the whole check module must be replaced. For the 2000 SE design in the 2 1/", 6", and 8" sizes. The SE uses internal parts one size smaller than the pip size: 8" 2000 SE has 6" check modules, a 6" 2000 SE would contain 4" check modules. Be sure which version you have. The 2 1/2" SE was discontinued in 2003. The 6" and 8" SE models were discontinued in 2006.

    2000B-FP

    Series 2000B-FP Double Check Valve Assemblies with Gear Operated Slow Close Isolation Valves prevent the backflow of contaminated water into the potable water supply. It consists of a bronze body construction that is easy to maintain and service. Series 2000B-FP is ideal at referenced cross-connections identified as non-health hazard applications. Check with local inspection authorities for installation requirements. Maximum Working Pressure: 175psi (12.06 bar).

Series C400, C400N, C400Z has a compact design that is 70% lighter than traditional designs, and is ideal for health hazard piping applications for protection against backsiphonage or backpressure.     Ames Series 4000SS Reduced Pressure Zone Assemblies prevent the reverse flow of polluted water from entering into the potable water supply due to backsiphonage and or backpressure. It consists of a stainless steel body construction with stainless steel internal parts. The bottom-mounted relief valve is located between the two check valves, making it suitable for installations against an outside wall. Series 4000SS has a compact design with a short lay length, ideal for retrofit installations. The 4000SS is designed for health hazard applications. It consists of stainless steel body construction with stainless steel internal parts. Its portable, lightweight design provides long-term service with minimal maintenance. Series 4000BLT is ideal for use on existing hydrant meter hookups. Factory assembled and tested. Various inlet and outlet sizes available.

    Ames Model 6000HMB Portable Hydrant Meter Backflow Preventers prevent the reverse flow of polluted water from entering into the potable water supply where flow is in one direction and the possibility of cross-connections exists, such as at a fire hydrant or other non-permanent installation. It consists of a stainless steel body construction with stainless steel internal parts, meter housing, measuring element, and permanently sealed register to measure flow and protect the meter and backflow preventer from damage due to excessive flow. Series 6000HMB meets AWWA C701 meter requirements and is ideal for use in existing hydrant meter hookups. Factory assembled and tested.

    Series 4000B-FP Reduced Pressure Zone Assemblies with Gear Operated Slow Close Isolation Valves prevent the reverse flow of polluted water from entering into the potable water supply due to backsiphonage and or backpressure. It consists of bronze body construction, two, in-line independent check valves, replaceable check seats with an intermediate relief valve, and ball valve test cocks. Series 4000B-FP is ideal for protection of health hazard cross-connections or for containment at the service line entrance. Check with local water authorities for installation requirements. In 2002 Watts bought the Hunter models and began producing them as the Ames C400. Watts also produces this under the Watts name as the model 957. The "C" designation refers to Ames Colt brand name. The body is stainless steel tubing. To access the check components a sleeve is mounted over the access cover. On the 2 1/2"-6" size the sleeve slides over the body to access the check components. On the 8"-10" size the sleeve is attached by two grooved couplings. The check components are modular and constructed of Noryl plastic. The check utilizes a torsion spring which is contained when the check module is removed from the body. The check spring must be extended and controlled with a pin or screwdriver to replace the check disc. The check discs are either an EPDM or silicone. The body length dimensions may be up to 1" shorter than shown in the dimension chart on versions earlier than 2003. The body dimension does not change the repair parts inside. The relief valve body attaches to the outside of the check body and is pressurized with an external RV sensing line.

The check spring must be extended and controlled with a pin or screwdriver to replace the check disc. The check disc is either an EPDM or silicone. The body may be up to 1" shorter than shown in the dimension chart on versions produced in 2003 or earlier. The relief valve body attaches to the outside of the check body and is pressurized with an external RV sensing line.

    The Ames 5000ss backflow preventer is a reduced pressure detector assembly. The body is fabricated stainless steel and has a single top bolted entry access to the checks. The relief valve is mounted under the check body and has an external sensing line. The checks are a cam operated design which is made of glass filled Noryl. All versions have a modular check design so the springs will be contained and the seats will be replaceable. In the 2 1/2"-10" sizes the check modules are not repairable and the whole check module must be replaced for a proper repair. The relief is mounted under the main body and supplied by an external relief valve sensing line
