    mes 400B is a reduced pressure backflow assembly. Production began in 2003. The Ames 400B is the same as the Watts model 919. The body is made of bronze. The checks are a poppet design. Check covers unscrew from body. The check springs are not contained. There is tension from the relief valve spring as you remove the cover. For repair information see Watts 919 info.

Series C400, C400N, C400Z has a compact design that is 70% lighter than traditional designs, and is ideal for health hazard piping applications for protection against backsiphonage or backpressure.     4000SS

    he Ames 4000ss backflow preventer is a reduced pressure assemblies. Discontinued on the 3/4"-2" size in 1997. The body is fabricated stainless steel and has a single top bolted entry access to the checks. The relief valve is mounted under the check body and has an external sensing line. On the 3/4"-2" size assembly there are several versions of the relief valve utilized over the years. The checks are a cam operated design which is made of glass filled Noryl. All versions have a modular check design so the springs will be contained and the seats will be replaceable. From 1990-1992 the 3/4"-2" size utilized an internal ball valve shut off design where the ball valve is built into the body of the assembly. From 1992 an external ball valve was externally screwed onto the body of the assembly. The 2 1/2" and 3" end to end varies by 5/8" due to a manufacturing design change of the end flanges. The check mechanism on the 2 1/2"-12" is made of glass filled Noryl. The check design is a cam operated mechanism. In the 2 1/2"-10" sizes the check modules are not repairable and the whole check module must be replaced for a proper repair. The relief is mounted under the main body and supplied by an external relief valve sensing line.

    Series 4000CIV Reduced Pressure Zone Assemblies are designed to provide cross-connection control protection of the potable water supply in accordance with national plumbing codes. This series can be utilized in a variety of installations, including health hazard cross-connections in plumbing systems or for containment at the service line entrance. With its exclusive relief valve design incorporating the "air-in/water-out" principle, it provides substantially improved relief valve discharge performance during the emergency conditions of combined backsiphonage and backpressure with both checks fouled.     4000RP

    The Ames 4000RP is a reduced pressure backflow assemblies. The 4" and 6" were discontinued in 1995. The 8" and 10" were discontinued in 2005. The bodies are welded steel which are fused epoxy coated. The internal check parts are stainless steel. with the check seats constructed of bronze. Special tools are required for proper repair. First check uses a tower mount design which requires the tong tool for proper repair. The second check uses a side mount check mechanism which requires a retainer clip tool for proper repair. The check springs are contained when the covers are removed. Check seats are replaceable and a seat removal tool is required to change them. The check mechanism uses a knuckle joint design. The checks are vulcanized clapper plates instead of rubber discs. The relief valve spring is not contained. The relief valve body is removable from the check body and has an external sensing line.

Series 6000HMB meets AWWA C701 meter requirements and is ideal for use in existing hydrant meter hookups. Factory assembled and tested.
