16 Hour Recertification Course - Please add your existing FL Backflow Tester Certificate # in the field to be used on your Test Gauge Recertification Certificate. If you do not have one, Test Gauge Inc. will generate a Test Gauge Inc. certificate number for you.
Course Description
This two-day course provides a comprehensive update on current standards and approved practices for testing and annually inspecting backflow prevention assemblies used in cross-connection control programs.
Participants will review key concepts in a classroom setting to prepare for the written exam and will receive hands-on training in the wet lab to refresh and reinforce their testing skills.
Recertification Requirements
To successfully recertify, participants must complete and pass the following:
- A hands-on lab exam covering RP and DC assemblies
- A written exam (time limit: 1 hour)
The full exam includes:
- Written Portion – 1 hour
- Hands-On Portion – 1 hour
Additional Information
- Your new certification date will be set two years from the date you attend the course
- Breaks are scheduled throughout the day
- Lunch is not provided – please plan accordingly
- If you do not pass either the written or hands-on exam, you may return to re-test. A $100 fee is required and must be paid prior to certificate issuance
Our 16 hour course is 8:00 am - 4:00 pm
Our Classes are accepted by the following counties: Charolette County, Hillsborough County, Manatee County and Sarasota County.
Backflow Certified in the state of Florida:
Backflow Testing in Florida: No state-level agency regulates backflow assembly testing. Authorization to perform testing is determined by each water district or local water purveyor.
Test Gauge follows the TREEO training guidelines but is not affiliated with TREEO. TREEO is the most utilized training organization in Florida. However, it is not the only training provider. The state of Florida does not regulate Backflow prevention training in Florida; it is the responsibility of Individual municipalities and water purveyors to recognize training.
